Pantone – Colour of the Year – Viva Magenta
The brand describes the shade as a “crimson red tone that presents a balance between warm and cool.” Pantone highlights a colour each year that reflects the current culture, as well as “an unconventional red for an unconventional time”, Pantone‘s Viva Magenta 18-1750 is a vibrant pinky colour with hints of purple that belongs to the red colour family.
As many sought to do with the colour of the year, you may be interested in incorporating Viva Magenta into your home.
At Helen Green Design we tend to keep the base pallets of our interiors neutral and timeless, and mostly use bright colours for accent pieces, accessories and artwork.
Viva Magenta is a strong pink colour which works well with softer shades blush and cream scheme base. It is ideal to use on a decorative cushion, sofa blanket or even occasional chair for a little bit of pop in an otherwise very tonal room. It can also work very well alongside other shades of pink as accessories, flower arrangements or small scale detailing such as embroidery, piping or trimmings.
We reflect on our completed projects and would like to share ideas on incorporating this beautiful and lively colour into the interior scheme.
