Sustainability – Helen Green x UAL

Helen Green Design is proud to announce a sample recycling programme in collaboration with the University of the Arts London.  Discontinued and unused samples will be donated to the University to build a materials library for utilisation on student’s projects.

“BA (Hons) Interior and Spatial Design are excited to receive material samples – fabrics, rugs, tiles and more – from Helen Green Design, facilitated by recent alumni Sara Hamza, Junior Designer at Helen Green Design. We plan to use the samples to build a material sample library in our studio and as a basis for a number of design projects in the 2022-23 academic year. Such collaborations exemplify our commitment to improve our students’ vocational opportunities, our graduates’ skills and employability and importantly to ensure our students’ skills are always set within an ethical framework which addresses issues of social, racial and climate justice.”

-Shibboleth Shechter “BA Interior & Spatial Design Course Leader”

Helen Green Design is passionate about sustainability, and we are committed to refining and bettering our daily practices. This collaborative initiative with the University of the Arts London will help to minimise waste while giving back to our local community.

University of the Arts London is a world-class university for Art and Design and their researchers are at the forefront of designing sustainably through innovative design.  Across six campuses students are offered access to art facilities, machinery workshops and materials in order to excel their creative process.

Helen Green Design is excited to support new emerging talent and hope that access and exposure to a wider variety of samples will help students develop their comprehension of material use and encourage sustainable design.
