Helen Green visits Frieze London

November 3, 2025

Last week, Frieze London and Frieze Masters once again proved why they remain two of the most compelling fixtures in the city’s cultural calendar. Bringing together leading international galleries, emerging artists, and historic works, the fairs offered visitors the chance to engage with contemporary art across time and medium. The exhibitions felt particularly alive with creativity - from ambitious material experimentation to installations that challenged scale, form, and expectation.

We were struck by the depth and diversity of expression on display while exploring the curated rooms and stand-alone installations. Each space felt carefully considered, with artworks that made you pause and reflect, whether through composition, narrative, or sheer presence. The breadth of imagination on display was a strong reminder of the value of curiosity, experimentation, and intent - an idea that resonates deeply within our own design practice.

Frieze, in that sense, offers us a welcome reminder of how creativity can refresh and refocus our approach to design. Immersing ourselves in environments where artists push boundaries expands the way we think about spatial atmosphere, material language, and emotional impact. Observing how a piece occupies space and draws focus encourages us to consider the environments we create with the same sensitivity and care, bringing the same thoughtfulness and inventiveness to our own work. The fair calls on us to approach interiors not just as functional spaces, but as environments that are layered, considered, and alive with intention.
